Avg Volume-at-Bar
The Divergence Software, Inc. Avg Volume-at-Bar indicator is a volume study that allows you to compare the current price-bar's volume with the bar volume that was recorded at that same time during the prior trading day. It can also be configured to create an X-day average of the volume that was recorded at each time interval throughout the day.
So, in it's default configuration the study will plot the current volume of the bar that is forming and it will also plot the volume recorded from that same time interval in the prior trading day (for example, it will allow you to compare the volume at today's 9:30am bar with the volume at yesterday's 9:30am bar). If you elect to use an average, the study will average the volume that was recorded at each time interval for the number of days that you specify and plot these values for each time interval of the current day (for example, in this configuration you could compare the volume at today's 9:30am bar with an average of the 9:30am bar volume over the last X trading days, where X is a number that you specify.)
The study will operate with stocks, futures, bonds, notes and currencies in conjunction with any eSignal Time Template. When run in realtime, the volume plot will update automatically as new trades come in.
