File Types

The ScanExpert application uses the following file types:

 

*.PAS

Pascal source file. This is a text file that contains pascal source code. This file type is used for scripts as well as study formulas and can be edited with any text editor.

*.DGX

Compiled formula study file. This is a compiled (binary) version of a study formula.

*.FIL

Filter specifications file. Stores the filter specifications and title for named filters.

*.TXT

ASCII Text file. This standard text file format is used to contain the help information displayed for study formulas in the Wizard and can be edited with any text editor.

*.AEF

Alert/Conditions definition file. This is a binary file that contains alert and/or condition formatting information and it is used by the Wizard.

*.POR

Portfolio file. This is a text file that contains information for a single portfolio, including symbol name, bar interval, session start time and session end time.

*.SYM

Active portfolio file. This is a text file that contains the information for the currently active portfolio.

*.DEF

Script definition file. This is a binary file that contains script formatting information and it is used by the Wizard.

*.INI

Configuration file. This file type is used extensively in the ScanExpert application to store configuration information for the various modules as well as for individual scripts.

*.WAV

Waveform audio format file. These WAV files are used by the Alerts system.

*.BNR

Editor configuration file. This is a binary file that contains configuration information for the ScanExpert Editor.
