Filters Overview

Top  Previous  Next

The Filters module is part of the ScanExpert Viewer application. The ScanExpert Viewer Grid is a powerful tool in its own right. With the Grid you can monitor price and volume  information along with a large number of built-in and/or custom study formulas, or user-defined conditions. You can sort on any column and you can format the display in each column in a number of ways. However there will be times when you want to identify specific trading opportunities or search for securities behaving in a specific fashion, and that is where the Filters module comes in.

Note: Filters are based on the columns of information available in the ScanExpert Viewer Grid. When creating the script that will be used to drive the Grid, make sure you include columns for all data points that you are likely to need for your filter operations (i.e., if you know you want to run a filter on a 40-period RSI, make sure you include a 40-period RSI as one of the display columns when you create your script. See Creating a New Script for more information.)
