Sorting the Grid

Top  Previous  Next

The ScanExpert Viewer Grid can be sorted at any time by left-clicking your mouse on any cell in the header row.

Click once in the header row and the Grid will be sorted in ascending order based on the column you selected.

GridSortAsc
Sort Ascending

Click again in the header row for the same column and the Grid will be sorted in descending order based on the column you selected.

GridSortDesc

Sort Descending

You can also sort the Grid using the Column Menu. Right click in any column header and the Column Menu will be displayed. Then click on either Sort Asc or Sort Desc. The entire grid will be sorted based on the selected column.

You can also define a sort based on multiple columns. To define a multi-column sort, click in the header of any column to set the primary sort (click once for Ascending and again for Descending). Now hold down your SHIFT key and click in the header of another column to define the secondary sort (again, click once for Ascending and again for Descending). Continue the process for any other columns that you wish to include in the sort sequence.

When you click on the Auto-Sort button in the toolbar, the currently defined sort order will be used for the Auto-Sort process (i.e., every x seconds, the entire grid will be sorted based on the currently selected sort column(s) and sort order within that column or columns).

The current sort order will stored in the script configuration file and restored, if possible, the next time the script is run. If you make changes to a script  (i.e., add or remove columns using the Wizard or using the Editor) the stored column sort order may no longer make sense.
