Trend Bars

Top  Previous  Next

The Trend Bars tab will format the cells in the current column so that each cell contains a series of colored boxes, where each colored box represents the cell value as of a certain bar. So, for example, if you select the Trend Bars formatting using the default values, 5 colored boxes will be displayed in each cell in the current column. The color of each box will be green if the value as of that bar is higher than the value as of the prior bar, red if the value as of that bar is lower than the value as of the prior bar, or yellow if the value is the same as the value as of the prior bar. This would allow you to visualize the trend of the values over the most recent 5 bars.

Once you apply this formatting to a column, adjust the Row Height and Column Width as necessary to achieve the look that you want.

Note: After formatting has been applied to the Grid you can double-click anywhere in the Grid to temporarily hide all formatting so that you can quickly view the underlying numbers. Double-click again and the formatting will return.
