Periodically we will make updates to the Harmonic Pattern Collection for NinjaTrader and, when we do, we will create a "compiled assembly" for the most current version which can then be imported directly into your copy of NinjaTrader. Links to the most current version will always be available on the Quick Start page in this user guide, and on the Harmonic pattern Collection product page.
Installation
Your first step should always be to confirm that you are running the most current version of NinjaTrader 8. As of this writing the current version is 8.1.2.1 for both 32-bit and 64-bit.
To check your current version:
•Click on the Help option on the NinjaTrader Control Panel toolbar;
•Select the About option from the menu. You version number will be displayed in the About NinjaTrader dialog.
If your NinjaTrader version is out of date:
•Click on the Help option on the NinjaTrader Control Panel toolbar;
•Select the Download option from the menu. You will be taken to a NinjaTrader web page where you will be asked to paste in your product License Key. You can obtain your License Key from either the About NinjaTrader dialog mentioned above, or by selecting the License Key option from the Help toolbar menu option.
•Once you do that you will have the option to download the most current version. Once you have it downloaded, just run the installer.
Once you have confirmed that you are running the latest version of NinjaTrader you can install the Harmonic Pattern Collection suite of indicators. If you are currently running an older version of the Harmonic Pattern Collection, your next step will be to completely remove that older version.
Remove Existing HPC Version:
•Close any open workspaces, charts, dialogs, and/or Market Analyzer components.
•Pull up your NinjaTrader Control Panel.
•Click on the Tools option on the toolbar and select the Remove NinjaScript Assembly option.
•The Remove NinjaScript Assembly dialog will appear and it will list all of the custom compiled assemblies that you may have imported into your copy of NInjaTrader. In that list you should see one or more files with the term 'harmonicPattern' (or 'HPCIndicators') listed. Select the file(s) and then click on the Remove button. You will be prompted to confirm, and the existing version will be removed.
Import New Version:
•Download the current version of our Harmonic Pattern Collection from either the Quick Start page or from the Harmonic pattern Collection product page.
•The "compiled assembly" takes the form of a standard Zip file. Just save this zip file in any folder on your hard drive (or to your desktop if you wish). The file name will take the following form:
oHPCIndicatorsNinjaX_YYYYYYZ.zip, where 'X' is the NinjaTrader major version number (i.e., '7' or '8'), 'YYYYYY' is our HPC internal version number (i.e., '181004'), and 'Z' is an alphabetic suffix (i.e., 'A' or 'B', or 'C', etc.) representing the current sub-version specific to NinjaTrader. It should go without saying that, if you are running NinjaTrader 8 then you should be importing our Ninja8 compiled assembly, and if you are running NinjaTrader 7 then you should be importing our Ninja7 compiled assembly.
•From the NinjaTrader Control Panel, click on the Tools option in the toolbar and then select the Import option from the menu.
•A smaller menu will appear. Select NinjaScript Add-On from this menu.
•The Import dialog will now appear and it will allow you to browse to the location on your hard drive where you saved the Harmonic Pattern Collection compiled assembly (zip file).
•Once you find it, click on it to select it and then click on the Open button in the Import dialog.
•You will be prompted to confirm the import, and then the current version will be imported into your copy of NinjaTrader. Important: During the import process you may be prompted to confirm the installation of various templates and/or XML files. In ALL cases you must select OK or Yes to confirm the installation of the newer files. Failure to do so will lead to errors.
•Once the import has completed you will be returned to the Control Panel. As a final step we recommend that you restart NinjaTrader.
Subscribing or Requesting a Trial:
When you subscribe to the Harmonic Pattern Collection (or if you want to take a trial) you will need to send us your unique HPC License String. To generate your HPC License String, please follow the instructions below:

Very Important!: In earlier versions of the Harmonic Pattern Collection we used the standard NinjaTrader licensing mechanism. As of HPC version 19.02.15 we are migrating to our own custom licensing process. If you are an existing subscriber you will need to follow the instructions below to generate your HPC License String and send it to us. In your email please include your full name and your original Order # if you have it. We will then port your existing subscription information over to the new database. |
•Start NinjaTrader and open a new, empty (i.e., no indicators) chart:
•Right-click in the chart, select the Indicators option, and then load the hpcPatternsIndicator. At the bottom-right of the chart you should see our hpcLicensing button. Click on the button and our hpc Licensing Dialog will appear:
•Now, click on the Refresh button a couple of times and then click on the Copy button in the dialog. Send an email to hpc@sr-analyst.com and paste the license string into the email. Please also include your full name and indicate whether you are subscribing or requesting a trial. You can now click on the Close button to close the hpc Licensing Dialog. We will activate your license and send you an email to confirm.
