Frequently Asked Questions

This section addresses some common issues that can crop up, and we also provide answers to some specific user questions:

I see some partial/incomplete patterns drawn on my chart, what is going on.

Our indicators make use of the PineScript Line and Label objects, and we are currently limited to a maximum of 500 objects per indicator, per chart. So this means that older patterns on your chart may be incomplete (i.e., not enough line/label objects were available to draw the entire pattern). This is a TradingView limitation and there is nothing we can do on our end to prevent it.

I see lots of Pending patterns that look valid, but do not Confirm. What is causing this?

Most likely it is the Minimize Overlap Setting. See the Display Filters topic for more information.

When trying to load the MW patterns indicator I get an "Oops, something went wrong" message.

This message indicates that your copy of the indicator could not be compiled (it timed-out). The MW patterns indicator is right on the threshold of being too large and complex for TradingView. The majority of the time it will compile but when the TV servers are busy it may time-out and and you will get the "Oops" message. We are trying to find ways to reduce the code size without sacrificing functionality and hopefully will have a permanent resolution for this soon. For the time being your only option is to wait an hour or so and then try it again. Once it is compiled it should stay compiled until either the TradingView software updates or we release a new version of the indicator.

Will the indicators work in the TradingView mobile app?

Yes, they will.

Sometimes when I change symbols and/or the bar interval the HSI indicator shows no plot.

The HSI indicator can require anywhere from a few hundred to several hundred bars of price data in order to prime the calculation. For securities that do not have a lot of historical price data it is possible that the HSI will not be able to render a plot.

What is the HOP?

It is the Harmonic Optimized Price. Please see the video for more information.

Doesl HPC Lite for TradingView require a paid TradingView subscription?

No, a paid TradingView subscription is not required. However, keep in mind that the free TradingView accounts are limited to a maximum of 3 indicators per chart...so you would not be able to load all of the HPC Lite indicators into a single chart.

There are some other important differences between the free and paid TradingView accounts that you should review:

Are there any alerts in the ABCD and/or MW pattern indicators?

Yes, we recently added Pending and Confirmed alerts using the new TradingView alert() method. See the TradingView article on creating/managing alerts for more information. Also, see the Alerts topic in this user guide.

Is there a pattern scanner available for HPC Lite for TradingView?

While earlier versions of HPC LIte for TradingView did not include a scanner/watchlist due to limitations in TradingView, we recently added a  watchlist component (HPC Watchlist) that allows you to monitor for pattern activity in up to 9 symbols in the bar interval of your choice.

My HPC (MW) and HPC (ABCD) indicators have disappeared.

We recently removed the HPC (MW) and HPC (ABCD) indicators and replaced them with a new indicator called HPC (Combo). This new indicator will look for all patterns. Look in your Invite-Only Scripts section of your TradingView indicators dialog and you should see the new indicator.

Be sure to go through all of your saved charts and layouts and remove the HPC (MW) and HPC (ABCD) indicators and then load the new HPC (Combo) indicator in their place.
